The SAT, ACT, and ACCUPLACER
Study and Repeat
Many of the assessments, like SAT, ACT, and ACCULPLACER are offered several times a year, so check with the college and career schools about when you need to take the test to meet their application deadline. With so many opportunities to test, it is a good idea to take an assessment more than once. You will be more familiar with the test the second time and may possibly perform better. For example, the SAT’s Score Choice (https://sat.collegeboard.org/register/sat-score-choice) allows you to submit only one set of scores to the schools you chose to send them to. Keeping this in mind, let’s take a look at how this works using the example below:
With SAT’s Score Choice, the highest combination score of both tests is 60 points higher than the score you earned the first time you took the SAT.
Remember, with some studying in between taking and retaking your tests, you may actually see some gains in points! And that’s worth it!
Did you know? Every college and career school’s admission policy is different. Use the schools’ webisite to learn more about the score ranges for admission and any other policies regarding test scores.
